It is a subtle play of mirrors that favors confrontations in the scenic space, remarkably used and allows keeping at work this quasi cinematographic division that gives that particular rhythm, obsessive and breathless, that Britten's score maintains by playing with the very contrasting colors of a dazzling sound palette. Grögler directs the singers with a rigorous flexibility that prevents any melodramatic effect.
